Join us for a night of heartfelt and invigorating multi-cultural music with Yazmin and Beat Zero, the Havana Quartet and Lady Midnight.

Yazmin and Beat Zero (YBZ) is a melting pot of influences, led by singer-songwriter and pianist Yazmin. She weaves soulful, bilingual lyrics with Cuban-influenced rhythms, to create a new sound drawing from years of study in Havana and deep Folk, Rock and Jazz musical roots. You will hear influences from Queen to Stevie Wonder, Los Van Van to Joni Mitchell. Over the course of her career she has shared the stage with the likes of Nanci Griffith, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Yusa, Maykel Blanco, and Akie Bermiss of Lake Street Dive. The musicians who make up the powerhouse that is YBZ are each stars in their own right. Andrew "Dizzy" Gillespie is a multi-instrumentalist percussionist who has made his mark on the Minneapolis and New York City music scenes for decades. Grammy-nominated bass player Álvaro Benavides adds the funkiest funk imaginable. And to sweeten the recipe even more, the musicians of the beautiful Havana String Quartet, hailing from Cuba, will bring their lush, effortless passion to this show. YBZ's performances are emotionally rich - moving effortlessly from tender ballads to bold, infectious rhythms, transmitting an experience of hope, care and joy to their audiences along the way.

“Yazmin approaches music like she does life and her sound is all the more rich and vivacious for it. As a world traveler and musician, Yazmin shares and expresses her experiences in song. Set to melody and rhythm she celebrates her own personal journey aloud as she inspires and connects audiences with a pure authenticity taking them along for the ride.” Daniel Sigelman Jazz88.FM
