John 'Papa' Gros

John “Papa” Gros (pronounced Grow) is a New Orleans pianist, organist, singer-songwriter, and torchbearer of the city’s rich musical traditions. For more than 30 years, he has blended New Orleans funk, R&B, jazz, blues, rock, and Americana, performing alongside legends including George Porter Jr., Snooks Eaglin, Earl King, Irma Thomas, Dr. John, and Allen Toussaint. As founder of Papa Grows Funk, Gros became a fixture of the New Orleans music scene through the band’s legendary 12-year Monday night residency at the Maple Leaf Bar and extensive touring around the world. His unmistakable keyboard style draws from Professor Longhair, Dr. John, Art Neville, and Randy Newman while pushing the tradition forward. His 2026 album Giants celebrates the artists who shaped his musical DNA, including Toussaint, Dr. John, The Meters, Levon Helm, and Billy Preston, reinforcing Gros’ place as a powerful bridge between generations of New Orleans music.

Demitrious Rallis is a Minneapolis guitarist, songwriter, and longtime fixture of the Twin Cities jam scene, known for his work with Frogleg and The Here Afters. Blending rock, funk, folk, and psychedelia, Rallis brings an improvisational spirit to the stage with deep grooves, exploratory jams, and songs built to stretch out live.
